Barbecue Ribs

This is my easy barbecue ribs. It is slow baked in the oven then basted with my homemade barbecue sauce. I will leave the recipe in the description below. The ribs will have a smoky flavoured taste and the meat will be so juicy and tender. Bake in the oven at 160C for 2 hours 45 minutes. It is important to bake the ribs in the juices so the meat will be extremely tender then at the end pour the juices out and continue to baste the ribs with my barbecue sauce giving you a delicious smoky taste.

Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients

Serves 4-5

1kg ribs or chicken portion

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon oregano

1 tablespoon Worcester sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2-3 teaspoon Rosie’s barbecue sauce

1 teaspoon white pepper

1 tablespoon cooking oil

1 teaspoon chilli powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Cooking oil to drizzle on baking tray

Rosie’s Barbecue Sauce

2 small onions diced finely

2 garlic cloves minced finely

1 tablespoon cooking oil

5 tablespoons vinegar

50ml water

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon mustard powder

2 tablespoons Worcester sauce

2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt to taste (optional)

Simmer all the ingredients for the barbecue sauce in a saucepan until smooth and creamy. The sauce will turn into a sticky saucy consistency once cool. The onions and garlic will melt into the sauce. You can leave the sauce in the fridge once cooled down this will keep for two weeks. You can also freeze the sauce and use it whenever you want to have a barbecue.

Method

1. Mix all the ingredients with the ribs and marinate over night.

2. Pour a little oil in a bake tray and add the ribs. Cover with foil and oven bake.

3. Pour the juices out halfway cooking time. Then baste the ribs with my barbecue sauce and put back in the oven without covering with foil.

4. Keep doing this until the ribs are well coated with the barbecue sauce.

5. Baked until cooked through.

6. Serve with chips or roast potatoes or eat the ribs on its own.
