Tandoori Chicken

This is my authentic chicken tandoori recipe marinated with fresh ingredients and roasted spices with added lemon juice to give it that zingy taste !

Tandoori Chicken

There are two stages of marination for this Tandoori chicken recipe:

Ingredients (First marination)

500g Chicken

1 teaspoon Chilli powder

1 teaspoon Turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Juice from half a lemon

Method

Put all the ingredients together and marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Ingredients (Second marination)

2 tablespoons plain yoghurt

1 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder

1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala powder

1 teaspoon of Tandoori masala powder

1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder

1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder

1/4 dry mango powder

Sprinkling of fresh Coriander leaves

1/2 teaspoon red food colouring

2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste

2 tablespoons of cooking oil

Method

Leave the chicken to marinate for 30 minutes; ideally it is best to marinate overnight.

Once the chicken has been marinated, place the chicken pieces on a baking tray lined with foil and drizzle with cooking oil.

Then bake in the oven for at least for 1 hour turning the chicken every 15 minutes.

Once cooked, serve with rice, roast potatoes or naan.
