Zingi Fried Masala Chicken
This is my very own chicken masala recipe, the most perfect and flavourful chicken. It is quick and very simple to make. If you follow this recipe you will have that masala, crispy, juicy chicken. You can serve this chicken with basmati rice, roast potatoes, chips etc
Ingredients
1kg chicken pieces
1 red onion
Ginger
4 fresh chillies
6 cloves garlic
1/2 lemon
1 level teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon coriander powder
Chilli powder 1 teaspoon (optional)
1/2 black pepper
1/2 garam masala but can use cinnamon with 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Red food colouring (optional)
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Method
1.. Blend the ginger , fresh chilli, onion and garlic in the food processor, until a smooth purée.
2. In your bowl, put the chicken making sure your chicken has cuts so that your marinade will be absorbed well by the chicken..
3. Now add all the spices and blended mixture, with your cooking oil and lemon juice.
4. Mix your chicken well. Marinate for about 2 hours or over night.
5. Shallow fry the chicken in 2 tablespoons of oil. Make sure you cover your frying pan while cooking the chicken.
6. Turn your chicken over time to time so that the chicken is evenly cooked.
Once cooked, enjoy. It’s as simple as that.
